Beijing Sets Target of 1,000 Advanced Smart Factories by 2030 Under New Industry Plan

Phoenix News — The Beijing municipal government has issued the "Beijing 15th Five-Year Plan for High-End Industry Development," which calls for upgrading industrial intelligence, applying AI to new industrialization, and integrating AI across all sectors and links of manufacturing.

The plan calls for accelerating the digital transformation of traditional industries and promoting intelligent manufacturing. By 2026, all manufacturing enterprises above a designated size are expected to achieve digital compliance. The plan also outlines a tiered smart factory cultivation system, under which all large-scale manufacturers will meet basic smart factory standards by 2030, with 1,000 advanced-level smart factories and 100 excellence-level and leading-level smart factories to be built.
